The Russian Theater from Tallinn arrived in Pskov with the performance "Players"

PSKOV. Thanks to the international part of the program "Big Tours", developed and implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Pskov theater-goers were able to see the performances of the Russian-speaking theater from Estonia. Tallinn Russian Theater arrived in Pskov for two days, showing the Gogol’s Players in the Pskov Drama Theater on November 25-26.

Sergei Fedotov, the main director of the “At the Bridge” theater, well-known in the theater world, staged Gogol’s comedy in the Tallinn Theater four years ago, creating a vivid performance from a text filled with many lengthy conversations. "Players" immediately became one of the best performances available in the repertoire of the "Russian Theater".

Igor Lysov, artistic director of the Russian Theater, spoke about the success of the “Players” among the audience at a press conference held in the Pskov drama on the first day of the tour. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the organizers of the project for providing the theater with the opportunity to go on tour in Pskov. He emphasized that while in Estonia, the Russian-language theater was in a difficult situation.

Therefore, the appearance of the international project "Big Tours" gives Tallinn "Russian Theater" the opportunity to show their creativity not only in the Baltic countries, but also in Russia. Soon the spectators of St. Petersburg will be convinced of the skills of Tallinn artists, where the "Russian Theater" will bring the "Cherry Orchard", staged by Igor Lysov.

The head of the theater noted that a trip to Pskov should become the basis for further cooperation between the two theater groups. In the future, it would be possible to exchange premiere performances, which would be interesting for both theater artists and spectators. The Pskov audience has already evaluated the touring performance, having awarded the artists from Tallinn with long applause.
