The organizers presented it to the public under the name "Theater Marathon". Among the organizers of the project, combining theatrical premieres and modern drama, master classes for actors and concerts, are not only the Novgorod Maly Theater, but the Goethe Institute, located in St. Petersburg.

For residents of Veliky Novgorod, this project will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the diversity of the theatrical world of their city, where many interesting cultural events take place. Before the start of the project, on the eve of the weekend, a press conference was held at the Maly Theater. The team of artists, led by artistic director Nadezhda Alekseeva, shared with the journalists the details of the “Theater Marathon”, telling about the planned activities of the project.

Since the concept of the project was developed jointly with the Goethe Institute, its central part will be the presentation to the public of plays written by contemporary playwrights in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The five new plays participating in the project have been translated into Russian and presented in the collection “STEP 11+”, published in 2015. The anthology consists of German-language drama designed for the younger generation of viewers.

Viewers will see all the plays in the format of stage readings, in which all theater artists will participate. Each of these plays touches on various aspects of adolescent personality formation. The Theater Marathon will end on March 27 with the performance of the Outcast.
