The festival of amateur theaters "Scarlet Sails" gathered in Irkutsk for the tenth time

IRKUTSK. Events of the Scarlet Sails Theater Festival will be held in Irkutsk for 11 days. They are gathering for the twelfth time at the amateur theater festival, first held in Irkutsk in 2005. It has become a tradition that for its participants there are no restrictions either on the age of amateur artists, or in the repertoire presented.

Therefore, in the festival program, you can see the work of very young artists representing school theaters, university students and unions of amateur actors of different ages, sometimes people of very respectable age who become participants in it. They can already be called professionals, since their whole life is devoted to the theater, even if it is amateur.

This year, more than twenty collectives became participants in the Scarlet Sails festival, most of which are from Irkutsk and its regional cities. The opening ceremony was held in the theater. Okhlopkova, on the Chamber Stage. The theater became the founder of the festival and its main organizer. Representatives of the Youth Theater Movement also participate in organizing festival events.

Margarita Podkorytova, head of the Youth Movement, noted the importance of the festival, where amateur theaters have the opportunity to show their creativity. Participation in the festival allows creative youth to communicate, to see that many of their peers are interested in theater.

VGIK students who are already on their way to the professional scene were the first to show their work. They presented the performance "Star Trek." In total, the program is scheduled to show 25 performances of various genres, their discussions, master classes, many creative meetings. To see the work of the forum participants, tickets are not required. The entrance is free.
