The 160th season of the drama theater in Veliky Novgorod ended with "Scarlet Sails"

VELIKIY NOVGOROD. On Sunday, June 8th, the Drama Theater. Dostoevsky completed the 160th theatrical season by showing the last premiere performance before the summer holidays. The artists delighted the theater-goers with the romantic performance "Scarlet Sails" staged by Sergei Grishanin, the main director of the Novgorod drama.

Before the performance, the closing ceremony of the anniversary season was held, during which its results were summed up. During the season, plays were staged based on plays by playwrights, whose works have long been classics. The names of Alexander Volodin, A.N. Tolstoy, and E. Scarpetta appeared on the theatrical poster.

Young spectators, who are just beginning to join the world of theatrical art, have not forgotten. To the children’s performances already in the repertoire last season two more productions were added. The young theatergoers were presented with the premieres of the performances “The Cat Leopold” and “The Snow Maiden”. They are interesting to parents, so going to the theater guarantees a good mood for the whole family.

A few words were said by the chief director about the final premiere of the season - the play "Scarlet Sails", which was based on the famous novel by Alexander Green. According to Sergey Grishanin, with this production, artists try to remind people that there is nothing stronger in the world than faith and love.

At the end of the evening, the audience saw the whole troupe of the theater on stage, and the theater director Vsevolod Chubenko, together with the main director Sergey Grishanin, congratulated the artist on the completion of the season, during which 8 new performances appeared in the repertoire. Ahead of the Novgorod drama, tours to Pskov and Vladimir, and artists from Pskov will please the theatergoers of Veliky Novgorod with their visit. Spectators will see the play of the Swiss playwright “Four Pictures of Love”.
