The third premiere on the Simonovsky stage of the Vakhtangov Theater "Enchanted Wanderer"

MOSCOW. The new stage venue of the Vakhtangov Theater, called the Simonovskaya Stage, was opened to the audience quite recently, but has already managed to please them with premiere performances. Spectators who came to the theater on November 17, on the day of the official opening of the new stage, saw the play "Evening of the Fools".

He became a kind of symbol of the continuity of generations, because the director of the famous Simonov dynasty worked on the production of the director. The next premiere of the new site was the play “Love by the Throne”. Director Andrei Maximov not only staged the play, but also wrote it himself.

On November 29, the audience will meet with another premiere performance. Fans of the Vakhtangov Theater are familiar with the work of the director Natalya Kovaleva. The performance “Our Class” staged at the Vakhtangov Theater was a hit of the past season. This time, Natalia Kovaleva turned to the classics.

Her new directorial work was the play on the story "The Enchanted Wanderer," written by Leskov. According to Natalia Kovaleva, Leskov’s description of human life is fully consistent with the life of each of us. Everyone shares the anxiety of the Leskov hero, worrying about his people, who believes that loud talk about the world leads to tragedies. There are parallels with today, when in words everyone is fighting for peace, and around us are wars, terror and violence.

Leskov’s narrative is included in a series of epic works, although it is written as a legend. Therefore, the life story he describes is eternal. For the honored artist Igor Kartashov, participation in "The Enchanted Wanderer" was the first main role performed as part of the famous Vakhtangov team.

In the near future, two more premieres will be presented to the audience.
