International festival “Earth. Theater. Children ”is not only a large-scale theater forum, but also a celebration of people whose contribution to the development of children’s theater can hardly be overestimated.

In 2001, the director, founder of the theater, Oleg Permyakov, passed away. Since then, the Yevpatoria forum has been dedicated to his blessed memory. At the IX Festival, the Permyakov dynasty established the Oleg Permyakov Prize in the field of theatrical art, which is awarded for special merits and cooperation in the field of children’s theater.

During the years of the festival, theaters, directors and teachers from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Estonia have become laureates of the Oleg Permyakov Prize. With the birth of Oleg Anatolyevich’s grandchildren, another tradition appeared - on the day of the closing of the forum, Daniil, Marusya, Polina and Pyotr Permyakov will present statuettes.

This year, by the decision of the festival organizing council, the Prize was awarded to the People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater Alexei Borodin and People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Provincial Theater Sergei Bezrukov.

Alexey Borodin: “Dear colleagues! I am glad to continue acquaintance of RAMT with the Crimean Youth Theater on such a pleasant occasion. Thank you for the award and I want to remind you that it is very symbolic: with the performance "The Golden Key" in 1936, Natalya Sats, figuratively speaking, opened the building of our theater. The premiere of the play based on the play by Alexei Tolstoy was a great event at the Central Children’s Theater. So we are connected with such a golden key.

It is a matter of great respect for the difficulty with which you continue the work of Oleg Permyakov. How touchingly keep the memory of him. I would like to wish you courage and professionalism. Not so long ago you became a professional theater for young spectators. I want to wish you not to be confined to this age limit, but to become just a large professional theater, open to the side of childhood. And the festival “Earth. Theater. Children "- stable funding, interesting participants and scale!"

Sergei Bezrukov thanked the organizers for the honor.

In a video message, he said: “Thank you very much for your trust. Helping children’s theaters is a matter of honor. For me, as the artistic director of the Moscow Provincial Theater, a theater for adults, it is extremely important to help children’s theaters, because it is with children’s theater that we begin to love theater as an art. Thanks a lot!". Very soon he will fly to Crimea himself, and we will have the opportunity to present him with the prize personally.
