Gifts - to small patients from the participants of the charity ball in the Estate of V.P. Sukachev

The patients from the Oncohematology Department of the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital received gifts from the participants of the charity ball organized by the branch of the Museum “Manor V.P. Sukachev”. Such charity work is a tradition for the estate. Funds raised as part of the dance evenings go to help children for five years. Initially, books were purchased for an orphanage in Urik; in the last two years, assistance has been provided to the oncohematology department.

“Presentation of gifts was delayed several times due to quarantines in the hospital. In the May holidays, they managed to do it. On the advice of doctors, we purchased educational games for children of different ages, ”says Natalya Goncharenko, deputy director general of the Irkutsk Art Museum,“ these games have been replenished, including the so-called Box of Courage. After painful procedures, the child can take from such a box what seems interesting to him. For him, this is a small reward for patience and the desire to overcome the disease. Two tablets were handed to teenage boys who are also being treated in the department. ”

This year a charity ball will also be held. Traditionally, preparation for it will begin in the fall. But, Natalia Goncharenko notes, the ball is only part of the social activities of the Irkutsk Art Museum aimed at children and adolescents. So this year a lot of work began with children with visual and hearing impairments. The museum organizes excursions and classes for them at no cost. Frequent guests of the museum are pupils of orphanages and shelters. So on June 1, on the Children’s Day, in the "Estate of V.P. Sukachev" guests are expected from the orphanage No. 5 of Irkutsk.
