Northern, new, mythological: Artmuse will host a personal exhibition of master of easel graphics Arkady Morozov from the author’s collection. Many etchings have already gone to museum and private collections and remain with the artist in a single copy, others will be presented to the public for the first time.

First of all, the author is known to a wide circle as an unsurpassed master of easel graphics. The resistance of the material, the physical effort, and the technical limitations of this art form make it repulsive to many artists. Spectators, on the contrary, are always attracted by such works, forced to stop and consider in detail.

The image of emptiness as an endless path is both the starting point and the end point of the path. Although in the generally accepted concept, emptiness has no boundaries, but each person builds these boundaries for any phenomenon, and this gives us a chance to reflect. The personal exhibition of the artist Arkady Morozov "Through the Boundaries of Emptiness" unites two creative periods of the master. In the late 80s and early 90s, the author worked in the aquatint technique, achieving a wide range of subtle, almost “watercolor” tonal gradations in engraving. In plot, he embodied his view of the northern village and northern mythology, here the elements of life merge into a complex ornament of symbols.

Over the past few years, Arkady has been focusing his attention and creativity on linocut, new prints are dominated by close-ups and special picturesqueness (thoughtful, often bold color combined with a pronounced texture), expressiveness and integrity of the first impression, focus on the rhythm of lines and local color spots.. The latest works of the author - linocut "Kill the Dragon", a series of "Hades" - another deep image and the great meaning of the human universe. Some of the works will be shown for the first time.

Arkady Morozov is an artist and graphic designer, since 1987 a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a member of the UNESCO International Federation of Artists, an Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Karelia. Participant of city, regional, all-Russian and international exhibitions in the field of design and fine arts since 1972. Participant and organizer of competitions, seminars, conferences, festivals. His works are in private collections around the world, in the collections of museums and galleries in Russia, Finland, Hungary, Malaysia, as well as in the Georges Pompidou National Center for Arts and Culture (Paris, France) and the New York Foundation for Contemporary Art.
