Ildar Safin represents a generation of artists who entered the artistic life of Kazan in the early 1990s. He passed a solid school - the Kazan Art College and the Leningrad Higher Industrial Art School named after V. Mukhina.

Ildar Foatovich Safin easily creates popular landscapes, still lifes, architectural views and historical monuments that can decorate any interior. Professionally sound, emotionally even, they give rise to a feeling of a slightly chilly detached contemplation. To a much greater extent, the true self of the artist, his passion and emotions, his diversity manifests itself in monumental paintings of interiors and in small-sized watercolors.

In watercolors, Ildar Safin is completely different - reverent and lyrical. Ballerinas are his favorite models. It is the series “Ballerinas” that was presented at the exhibition “In a satin slipper, on a cork…” at the Hazine National Art Gallery.

Images of airy, weightless, almost incorporeal dancers, with honed graceful lines, are most exquisitely rendered by the watercolor technique. Watercolor itself is transparent and reverent, tender and musical. As the artist himself notes: “I work quite freely in different techniques, but my favorite is watercolor. It is unpredictable, it must be obeyed, it itself leads and this is what gives the work a fresh sense of life. The letter in the delicate, transparent watercolor of the dancing ballerinas conveys artistry, mobility, and awe. I like to apply vibrating touches to the paper, which show the movement of my hand… "

In ballet there is a concept - variation. Watercolor variations on the theme of ballet are presented by the artist Ildar Safin at the exhibition "In a satin slipper, on a cork…".
