Anastasia Kardashova (pseudonym Krapiva) is a young artist and illustrator. She participates in exhibitions and art festivals throughout Russia, and creates illustration training programs for professional artists.
The exposition is based on illustrations with texts - author’s fairy tales. Each text is associated with the image and complements it. In the Nettle Tales project, the artist reveals the ancient tradition of telling stories in her own way. All of them are placed in a fairy-tale space, where each character or event becomes a symbol. Artifacts that create a tactile reality of the mysterious world, for example, an old key, a stove tong, a mirror decorated with branches and stones, allow you to immerse yourself in the plots.
We tell ourselves stories. Outlandish animals roam in them and night fires burn. They are born before us and live after us. "Nettle tales" are the same stories told by the fire, - says Anastasia Kardashova, - Born from my personal experience and the experience of women close to me, fairy tales acquire thousands of voices. They seem to be familiar and new at the same time.
In the project, the author reflects on how to find harmony between the external and internal; how to accommodate completely opposite feelings; what depends on the person himself, and what is already predetermined. Heroes unravel the mysteries of fate, seek their place in the world, live in harmony with nature, fall in love and dream.
There is a free audio guide with which you can listen to more than 20 author’s fairy tales by Anastasia Kardashova. You just need to scan the QR codes next to the paintings and follow the link. The stories are read by the actress of the Theater for Young Spectators and the New Drama Natalia Malamud.
Age limit 18+. The cost of entrance tickets to the exhibition is 50-150 rubles. The exhibition will be held in the halls of the gallery at the address: Irkutsk, st. October Revolution, 3.
