The project “The Sacred Forest” (Heiliger Wald) unites two famous Krasnodar authors - the painter Igor Mikhaylenko and the sculptor Valery Pchelina. The name of the exhibition refers the viewer to the German-Scandinavian mythology, which refers to the emergence of the world out of chaos. The sacred forest is an image of reserve, a place of cult practices, a space that opens to a person in a state of transition beyond being.
The exposition in the Erarta Museum takes the viewer into the space of pure form and pure color. Bee’s black conditional objects create tension, which is resolved by the polyphony of emotions on Mikhaylenko’s canvases.
The sculptural bioforms of the Bee, made of wood by the method of rallying and designing, vary in size from interior to the height of human growth. The artist speaks about the presence in our reality of someone important, existing in more than humanity, the number of dimensions, about the action of forces not connected with people.
If the work of Valery Pchelina is about the presence of metaphysical principles, then the large-format abstract painting of Igor Mikhaylenko is about what happens to a person when he meets them.
“The paint on the canvas at some point begins to go as she herself needs, and I feel like a conductor. All this reminds of a shamanic ritual, ”¬ says Igor Mikhaylenko.
The exhibition "Sacred Forest" will be open to viewers until July 22. Entrance to the exhibition - with a single ticket to the museum for 1 day or for free by subscription.
