My name is Marinette Mortem, I am 21 years old and I am both an artist and a filmmaker. Today, we are at the threshold of a new era in art, thanks to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI). As a creative person, I see this as both an opportunity and a challenge. Let’s look at how AI is affecting the future of painting and what it means for us as artists.

Opportunities Provided by AI

• Automatic image generation. AI is already capable of generating high-quality images based on descriptions. This opens up new horizons for artists, allowing them to quickly create prototypes or ideas for further work.
• Supporting the creative process. AI can help explore new styles and techniques. It can suggest unexpected combinations of colors, shapes, and textures that can inspire an artist to create something completely new.
• Accessibility of education. With the help of AI, learning art becomes easier and more accessible. There are programs that analyze the works of famous artists and offer recommendations on how to improve your own skills.
• Interactive installations and performances. AI can be used to create interactive art objects and performances that respond to the actions of viewers. This is a new dimension in art that was previously difficult to imagine.

Challenges associated with AI

• Competition with machines. The question of whether artists will be able to compete with AI remains open. There are already algorithms today that can create images indistinguishable from human work.
• Ethics and copyright. Who will own the rights to the work created by AI? Who will get credit for the work that the machine actually did itself? These questions require serious discussion and legal regulation.
