Ulyanovsk marks the anniversary of Arkady Plastov with new exhibitions

Ulyanovsk. On January 31, the city holds events dedicated to the anniversary of the birthday of the great craftsman Arkady Plastov. First of all, these are exhibitions that have opened in all museums associated with the name of the famous artist.

For the anniversary, the restorers put in order two paintings by Arkady Plastov, which had suffered from time, - “A lesson in botany”, written in 1939, and also “Village March”, dating from 1965. The last canvas is part of a series of works by the painter, called "People of the collective farm village." These were works for which Arkady Plastov was awarded the honorary and prestigious Lenin Prize.

Funds for the restoration of paintings were allocated from the budget of the Ulyanovsk region. The Ministry of Culture of the region promised assistance in the restoration of other works of the master. Revived paintings took a place in the Museum of Modern Art named after Arkady Plastov. An exhibition of works by Ulyanovsk artists “Plast and his contemporaries” opens in the same museum

At the A. Plastov Museum, located on Goncharova Street, congratulations to the craftsmen will begin from 11 a.m. An exhibition of children’s creativity opens there, children’s groups will perform, films dedicated to the creative life of Arkady Plastov will be shown. Later, at three o’clock in the afternoon, the “Plastov Universe” celebration will begin, during which the presentation of the exposition “Russian World of A. Plastov” will take place.

Another exhibition of the artist’s works, not previously exhibited, opened on Avenue of Aviastroiteley, house 23. A room for the exhibition was allocated by one of the banks of Ulyanovsk, and paintings on unusual topics for the master - water, were provided from the home collection of his relatives. The exhibition is open to visitors all February.
