Sketches and sketches of Arkady Plastov at the exhibition "Protection of the hearth" in the regional museum of Ulyanovsk

Ulyanovsk. The Regional Art Museum of Ulyanovsk is waiting for visitors to the exhibition of works by Arkady Plastov, named for one of his works - “Protection of the homeland”. Its grand opening took place on April 23 in the presence of cultural figures of the Ulyanovsk region.

The first guests were welcomed by Elena Kurakova, a representative of the regional ministry of art. She congratulated all those present on the opening of the exhibition, which is important for understanding the creative process of Arkady Plastov. It is possible that this exhibition will provide an opportunity to find out the fate of the canvas, lost in the war years.

Her performance was continued by Louise Bayoura, deputy. museum director. She noted that the exposition, created from nineteen paintings by the artist, provided by his family, makes it possible to join the creative process, to see how Arkady Plastov worked on the details of the picture and the characters of her characters.

Stanislav Slesarsky, representing the "Union of Artists of the Russian Federation" of the Ulyanovsk region, told what stages of the painting can be seen in the works included in the exhibition. At the opening of the exhibition, the performance of the guys representing the club of the author’s song “Credo” took place. Together with students of school No. 37, they showed a musical and poetic composition created by them dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory.

The canvas "Protection of the homeland", the sketches of which are presented at the exhibition, was first presented in Moscow in the autumn of 1942. The Tretyakov Gallery hosted the All-Union Exhibition of Military Subjects. The organizers gave it the name "Great Patriotic War." Her exposition included several works by Arkady Plastov, which included the painting “Protection of the hearth”. In the future, this work of the artist was lost.
