An open air dedicated to the famous artist Arkady Plastov opened in the Ulyanovsk region

On September 18, in the homeland of the artist Arkady Plastov, who had a tremendous influence on Russian painting of the twentieth century, the open air was opened. It brought together participants from all cities of Russia and several painters from Armenia to better understand the work of the master, by sketching those places on the Middle Volga that captivated his imagination.

The open-air is timed to coincide with the Plastovskaya Autumn international art assembly, organized by the Ulyanovsk Region Youth Creative Fund. An artist who amazes his contemporaries with the poetry of images, amazing love for his country, its people and nature, is a real symbol of this city. Colorful scenes of village life, illustrations of the works of great Russian writers, vibrant and emotional subjects made him a classic during his lifetime and many Russians liked him.

The participants of the event will hold numerous master classes - young artists from all over the region will be able to improve their skills and get acquainted with those for whom brushes and paints have become a real profession. Perhaps this will help some of them win the Plast Prize, consisting of 16 nominations and allowing to show their talent not only to recognized masters, but also to beginning creators.
