In Feodosia opened the exhibition of S. Sovetnikov "My city. Painting"

THEODOSIA. On the Day of the city, celebrated in Feodosia on July 26, in the exhibition hall of the city museum of antiquities, a personal exhibition of Sergei Sovetnikov, a famous Feodosian artist, was opened. The exposition of the exhibition, which housed 41 works by Sergei Sovetnikov, was briefly named by the author - “My city. Painting".

Although the artist’s youth was spent in the Far East, where he received a professional education at the Institute of Arts, and then taught painting of children in the city of Nakhodka, Feodosia has long been a hometown for Sergei Mikhailovich. He moved to Feodosia in 1979 and worked for almost thirty years as a teacher at an art school. Since 1998, Sergei Sovetnikov has been busy only creating new paintings.

The painter paints his paintings in various genres. Although among his works there are many still lifes, the creation of landscapes depicting the favorite corners of Feodosia is a favorite pastime of Sergei Mikhailovich. The artist constantly returns to the places where he already painted, paints them again in different weather, with changed lighting.

Each of his new compositions looks different, but the main thing that unites them is naturalness combined with riot of color and freshness of perception. Many of the paintings of the painter depict the sea.

Seascapes painted by Sovetnikov are marked by a special love of the author. They are bright and expressive, the artist experiments a lot, trying to capture on his canvases all the shades of colors created by the play of waves and light. Looking at these canvases, you can feel the breath of the sea.

The artist’s works can be seen in the museums of Simferopol and Feodosia, they participated in numerous foreign exhibitions. Several works of the artist in 1999 were acquired by the New York Museum.
