In the Volgograd Museum. Mashkov open exhibition - "Victor Kovalenko:
realism and reality"

VOLGOGRAD. Museum them. On January 29, Mashkov presented a solo exhibition of Viktor Kovalenko, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, whose work is well known to art lovers in many countries. An outstanding Volgograd artist, whose unique works constantly surprise with an unusual look at the world around him, selected about 50 works for display to museum visitors.

Some of them are stored in the museum collection of the All-Russian Museum of Fine Arts, and works recently completed and still in the master’s workshop were provided for the exhibition by the artist himself. Visitors to the exhibition, entitled "Realism and Reality", had a unique opportunity to become the first spectators to see the last two paintings of Viktor Kovalenko.

The artist devoted both works to the history of the region, revealing the theme of patriotism in them. The artist called one of them "Stalingrad survived", and the second is presented under the name "Stalingrad St. George. " These works are of particular importance to Viktor Kovalenko, because his father was the defender of Stalingrad, and the artist himself was born in this legendary city.

The name of the exhibition opens reflects the complexity and ambiguity of the work of Victor Kovalenko. His works mix genres and styles, sculpture and painting. The artist not only works as a teacher at VolGASU, while simultaneously creating and participating in many exhibitions, he is also the creator of his own art school.

In 2010, the creative work of Viktor Kovalenko was awarded the State Prize of the Volgograd Region for his contribution to art. His work was evaluated in the nomination "Painting". His works are stored in the Volgograd Museum and in other Russian cities. Works by Kovalenko are also presented in foreign museums.
