The premiere of the opera "Troubadour" will open in Moscow festival "Epiphany Week"

MOSCOW. At the Novaya Opera Theater on January 11, the international festival Epiphany Week opens for the ninth time. This project, carried out as a memory of the outstanding Russian conductor Yevgeny Kolobov, whose name the theater bears, has become a celebration for all people who love music, as well as a parade of music performers living in different countries. Within the framework of the festival, they take part in the best performances and concert programs of the Novaya Opera Theater.

This year’s festival is dedicated to the celebration of the bicentenary of the birth of the brilliant composer Giuseppe Verdi, whose operas became the basis of the repertoire of all opera houses in the world. Yevgeny Kolobov, in whose honor this festival is held, spoke about Verdi that this is the most mysterious composer known in the world. His music is outwardly simple, but its depth of meaning and emotionality is inexhaustible. The composer’s work was highly appreciated by the conductor.

During the festival "Epiphany Week", which will not be limited to the term indicated in its name, but will continue until the last January day, Verdi’s works of different periods of his life will be presented. On the first day of the festival, the premiere will be presented to the audience - the opera Troubadour, which was staged by Italian director Marco Gandini. The set designer and costume designer also came from Italy to stage the play. They were Italo Grassi and Simone Morezzi, with experience in the most famous theaters in the world.

In addition to the most famous works of Giuseppe Verdi, viewers will be able to get acquainted with the work of the composer of the early period. It is represented by the play "Nabucco" and two other rarely performed works. Theater-goers and the famous opera Aida will see, and the concert “Viva Verdi!” Will be played as the finale.
