The Ryazan Drama Theater closed the season with the play "Dragon" based on the play by E. Schwartz

KNITTING. Most theatrical groups have already developed a tradition of celebrating the end of the season by showing the audience a premiere performance. This, as it were, sums up the work done by the actors of the theater over the past season. For the Ryazan Drama Theater, the season ended was the anniversary - the theater turned 225 years old.

In honor of this date, the audience, who filled the theater’s hall to failure, was shown the premiere of an ageless fairy tale for adults written by Eugene Schwartz - “The Dragon”, staged by the young director and favorite theater actor Maxim Larin.

It is possible that thanks to his youth, Maxim Larin ventured to set up a play that bypassed many of the country’s scenic venues, its text was dismantled into quotes, and it seems impossible to compete with the film staged by Mark Zakharov. Therefore, the theater audience began to discuss the "Dragon", expected on the Ryazan stage, when the day of the premiere was still far away.

The director’s work was appreciated by the audience with applause, periodically sounded during the performance of the performance, and then with ovations and flowers in its final. In the reading of Maxim Larin, the performance turned out to be peculiar - the action is slow, a lot of characters are used in the design of the scene, and the most important replicas of the characters of the play are emphasized by musical accents.

The seriousness of what is happening on stage slightly dilutes with its behavior the charming burgomaster performed by the no less charming actor Yuri Borisov. The two-faced Dragon in the guise of Vladimir Prize, with his devilish smile, makes it clear that even the bravest knight will never succeed in defeating him.

The director left the final of the play open, but the main idea of the play became clear to all viewers - it was necessary to kill the dragon living in each of us.
