Robert Sturua presented the premiere - at the theater "Et cetera" "Comedy of Errors"

MOSCOW. The premiere performances staged by the outstanding Georgian director Robert Sturua based on Shakespeare’s comedy of errors took place at the Et cetera Metropolitan Theater. Shakespeare’s plays often feature stories in which the twins participate. In this comedy there are as many as two pairs - gentlemen and their servants. Therefore, the terrible confusion that occurs by the will of the author of the play turns it into a chain of incredibly funny situations, crazy coincidences.

According to the plot, invented by Shakespeare, both pairs of twins were lost as a child, and then the journey of one of the brothers and his servant led them to the city, where the second couple lived all years. A real mess begins on the stage - no one understands whose relative he is, he later takes the arrived twin for his husband, the servant is completely at a loss, as his master gives him contradictory orders every half hour.

Having come to the city for the first time, Antifolos constantly answers someone’s greetings, he is asked about something, sometimes they even give money. As a result, whirling in a whirlpool of events incomprehensible to him, he, together with his servant, is going to urgently leave this crazy city. Of course, in the end, all problems are resolved, everything falls into place.

Creating plays with the participation of the twins, Shakespeare gave both roles to one actor. At the same time, the play was written so that the characters did not appear on the stage at the same time. Robert Sturua did the same. Vladimir Skvortsov plays two brothers, instantly disappearing from the scene and immediately appearing in a new guise.

The performance is staged vividly and dynamically, accompanied by wonderful music. It was written by the permanent co-author of Robert Sturua - composer Gia Canceli. Each character on stage is accompanied by a musical theme, and in the finale all the actors sing.
