Theater "Et Cetera" in the framework of the "Big Tour" brought to Khabarovsk five performances

KHABAROVSK. The Metropolitan Theater "Et Cetera" opened the program of its "Big Tours" in Khabarovsk with the performance "The Tempest" directed by the outstanding director Robert Sturua. In this performance, the head of the theater, Alexander Kalyagin, also entered the stage of the Khabarovsk Drama Theater. He played the role of the sorcerer Prospero.

At a press conference, Kalyagin shared his impressions of the Khabarovsk audience, whose meeting with the Et Cetera Theater took place for the first time. He appreciated the gratitude of the audience at the first performance, which ended with a long applause. The audience stood up and expressed their admiration for the performance with real applause.

Robert Sturua embodied all the famous Shakespeare plays on stage, in each of which the director contributed something of his own. In the new production of Storm, he used modern special effects, thanks to which the scene turned into a fascinating world of spectators, led by a powerful magician.

At a press conference, Kalyagin said that in his theater he did not interfere in directing. For staging performances, outstanding, talented directors are invited to the theater. As a result, performances of various genres are born. The People’s Artist noted that many of the performances available in the Et Cetera repertoire are not available in other theaters.

Kalyagin reminded those present that he had repeatedly said that the theater was not a service and that he should not entertain. Even in comedies there should be no vulgarity. The theater should provide aesthetic pleasure and be vaccinated against cruelty and anger.

Metropolitan artists brought five performances to Khabarovsk. Among them are Shakespeare’s “Comedy of Errors”, the drama “Fires”, the comedy “The Patient”. For children, the theater of Alexander Kalyagin brought a magnificent fairy tale “The Royal Cow”.
