Performances of famous directors will be shown at the winter theater festival

ST. PETERSBURG. The performance of the piano duet from France “Katya and Mariel Labek” on the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater in France on November 14 started a winter theater festival organized on the initiative of the artistic director of the Maly Drama Theater Lev Dodin.

At a meeting with media representatives held before the opening of the festival, Lev Dodin noted that the main mission of the theater forum is to show on stage the latest works of the largest theater masters created in the most prestigious European theaters. Thus, St. Petersburg once again emphasizes that the city bears the title of world theater capital.

The musical performance of talented French performers became a kind of prelude to the main program of the festival. From the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater classical works of Bach sounded harmoniously combined with electronic music by Marich.

The next day, on the 15th, on the stage of the Komissarzhevskaya theater, the audience got the opportunity to get acquainted with the creation of the famous director Peter Brook - the actors of the Parisian “Theater duff du Nord” showed the play “The Magic Flute”.

Spectators who manage to get into the hall of the Youth Theater on the Fontanka will see the performance “Dare in Venice”, performed by actors from Berlin. This production was carried out by Thomas Ostermeier.

On the same stage, on November 24th you can see the work of Russian actors - the workshop of Pyotr Fomenko will present the play staged by his teacher - a composition based on the novel by L. Tolstoy “Family happiness.

Many performances related to the masterpieces of directorial works created in the 20th century are no longer possible to see on stage. As part of the festival program in the hall of the cinema "Aurora" you can get acquainted with the film versions of the legends.
