"The season of Stanislavsky" will begin the author’s performance of the director from Japan

MOSCOW. For the tenth time, the Stanislavsky Season Theater Festival brings together the most talented directors from around the world in the capital. Starting from October 3rd, on the stages of the capital’s theaters, participants in the festival program will show their new productions.

The last performance of Stanislavsky’s Season will be presented to the public on December 18th. A few days later, on December 22nd, the Stanislavsky Prize will be solemnly awarded. As always, it will be awarded to the people of the theater, whose work has become an outstanding contribution to the theatrical art.

On the first festival day, an acquaintance with a new theater name for the Russian public will take place. For the first time in Russia, Toshiki Okada, a Japanese playwright and director, will show her work on the stage of the Theater of the Moon. He is the author of many popular performances, his works have been awarded literary and theatrical prizes.

Spectacles of European capitals managed to see the performances of his theater company, and now the Russian audience will be able to appreciate the director, to whom he will present the performance “Vanilla Dream”. This statement in an ironic perspective shows the life of a modern consumer society.

Luke Perceval, who won the Stanislavsky Prize last year, will present his new work. The performance “Platonov” staged by the Belgian director will be shown on the stage of the Pushkin Theater. Following Perceval, the world famous director Eymuntas Nyakroshus will show his new production here. “The Book of Job” is the name of the play, in which the Lithuanian master used the motives of the Old Testament.

The festival performances will end with a new directorial version of The Cherry Orchard from director Lev Dodin and the Theater of Europe. As usual, viewers will see the program of the capital’s theaters.
