The plays of Nina Sadur and Eward Albee in the play "Unforgettable Dating"

MOSCOW. The repertoire of the Moscow Satire Theater has a new performance staged by the Voronezh director Sergei Nadtochiev. The premiere of the play “Unforgettable Acquaintances”, composed of two well-known to the audience, one-act plays by Nina Sadur and Eward Albee, took place on November 17th.

At first glance, the plays "Ehai" and "What happened at the zoo" seem to be two separate productions, separated from each other by intermission. However, the director combines both stories with themes enclosed in the depths of the plays - loneliness, the search for his destiny by each of the characters in the play.

Nina Sadur wrote this play three decades ago. Over the years, the performance "Ehai" was staged by many directors. The plot of the play was overheard by the author in the vestibule of the train. The conversation between the driver and the former prisoner turned into a play, always warmly received by the audience.

The man, whose role is played by Fedor Dobronravov, deciding to commit suicide, settles on the rails, waiting for the passing train. But here the Machinist appears (Andrei Barilo), forced to stop the train because of a man lying on the tracks. From their conversation it becomes clear that restlessness and loneliness touched everyone.

Their conflict ends with the appearance of a grandmother (Nina Kornienko), looking for the missing goat. It seems that the end of the play is happy - the man finds himself a roof over his head, invited by his grandmother to him. Only now, the Engineer is left alone with unresolved issues.

In the second act of the play, two people meet, one of whom lives a right, measured life - family, children, good work and the usual Sunday rest on the bench. The second one is so lonely that even forgot how to communicate with people. And again, the director turns to the topic of human loneliness.
