Theater festival dedicated to the work of A. Ostrovsky, in Kostroma

KOSTROMA. The anniversary theater festival opened on December 2 at the stage of the theater. Ostrovsky. This year, the project participants gathered in Kostroma for the fortieth time. The festival "Days of Ostrovsky in Kostroma" was founded in 1973, when the country celebrated the 150th anniversary of the great playwright. To date, this project, created four decades ago, is the oldest among Russian theater festivals.

They took a little time to the ceremonial part of the opening ceremony, since everyone - the festival participants and its guests was eager to get acquainted with the team from Omsk, who was taking part in the festival program for the first time. Zamlit Omsk Theater Svetlana Trifonova, who arrived at the festival with her colleagues, noted that participation in the "Days of Ostrovsky" for them is not only prestigious, but also very important. The festival is attended not only by professional theater critics, but by people who understand and appreciate Ostrovsky’s work.

This year, six theaters came to the festival in Kostroma. In addition to the work of the theater from Omsk, the audience managed to see the performance of the Kostroma drama "Dowry", shown on December 3rd. Another production of their fellow countrymen, the performance "Thunderstorm", Kostroma viewers will be able to watch on December 7th.

Smolensk Theater Griboedova in the evening of December 4 will present the play by A. Ostrovsky “Late Love”. Ahead is still acquaintance with the teams of theaters who came from Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Kirov and Rybinsk. The time allotted for rehearsals for each of the festival participants is scheduled literally in minutes.

The winners of the festival will be announced on December 9th.
