In the play "Double Bass" the only role is played by Konstantin Khabensky

MOSCOW. In the repertoire of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov appeared a play staged by director Gleb Cherepanov based on the novel by Patrick Suskind, the famous German screenwriter. This story, with the laconic name "Double bass", the scriptwriter wrote at the very beginning of his writing career.

The premiere of the contrabass performance took place on March 1st. The main and only role in the play is played by Konstantin Khabensky, whose name on the poster attracted not only those spectators familiar with the plot of the play on reading this story in Satyricon, but simply fans of the famous actor.

This performance is not entertainment - the fate of his hero, Wolfram Knorr, perfectly narrated and shown by Konstantin Khabensky, requires reflection from the viewer. The problems raised in the play are many, but its main topic was the conversation about how easy it is to perish the talent of a person who does not live his own life, who is engaged in a profession other than his own. This topic intersects another, no less important one - the story of a man whose life is filled with unrequited love - for the profession, music, woman.

According to Konstantin Khabensky, his hero, a lonely man, ridiculous and sad clown. To play such a role is always the dream of every actor. A musician who dreamed of a violinist’s career made friends with the double bass for his whole life. This instrument replaced him with the whole outside world, from which the hero hid in a room where even sounds penetrate with difficulty - the walls are covered with old mattresses. In his monologues, the hero moves from madness to lyrics.

Khabensky had long dreamed of working with a play. Now that the performance has already begun its life, the actor says that the production will still be corrected, starting from the reaction of the audience, since I want it to affect everyone sitting in the hall.
