The performance of Dmitry Volkostrelov "Parks and Gardens" will be shown only five times

ST. PETERSBURG. Only on August 31st the theatergoers of St. Petersburg will be able to see the new work of the popular director Dmitry Volkostrelov. The first performance "Parks and Gardens", performed by artists of the "Post Theater", was presented to spectators on August 27 in an unusual stage space - in the Garden of the Fountain House (the museum of Anna Akhmatova is known by this name).

This play, written by a playwright from Belarus Pavel Pryazhko, was put on the first in Russia. Dmitry Volkostrelov has long been working as a Belarusian playwright. The leader of the young generation of Russian directing received a significant part of his fame not only as the founder of the Post Theater, which uses unusual spaces and a new theater language. The performances created by the director based on the plays of Pavel Pryazhko were shown at many significant theater festivals.

Dmitry Volkostrelov himself says that the plays created by Pryazhko are attracted to him by the relevance of the themes raised in them, the originality of their presentation. The play "Gardens and Parks" can be attributed to science fiction in the genre.

The son of the protagonist - Peter, decided to give his father eternal life using computer technology. By digitizing the personal data made by his son, Peter becomes a robot. However, he constantly seeks to leave the house, going into the garden, where he reflects on life, its meaning and limb.

Volkostrelov in his original author’s productions often uses unconventional theater space. He showed his work in the halls of old mansions, in art galleries, clubs. However, the director staged the open-air performance for the first time. The performance will be shown to viewers only five times.

The next work of Dmitry Volkostrelov will be staging a performance on Russian romances at the Theater of Nations.
