Rostov Youth Theater completes the season with the performance "The Way of Your Life", staged in an unusual format

ROSTOV-ON-DON. At the end of the 85th theatrical season, artists of the youth theater made a present to their fans - the premiere of the play staged by the main director Mikhail Zayets on the play "The Way of Your Life". It is written by the American playwright William Saroyan. The name of the play on the poster coincides with the name of the play, only the designation of its genre is added to it - “almost melodrama”.

The main feature of the production was the placement of spectators on the stage, next to the artists. They become visitors to the small American zucchini "Nick Salon", which has become the main scene of the play. Thus, they not only watch the performance, but also are its participants. The acting team of Mikhail Zayets manages to create an atmosphere of an alarming 1939 on the stage of the theater.

Helped in this and the audience. 50 people could see the performance, each of whom was offered a specific dress code for clothes reminiscent of the time taking place on the stage. In the courtyard, visitors could see completely different people. His guests were novice writers, police, poor people looking for work and girls of easy virtue.

To make it easier for viewers to understand the meaning of the heroes of the performance, the director introduced a new character to the play - the author. He, like the audience, sits in a pub and, watching what is happening, writes a play. Excerpts of his works on stage make the feelings of the characters more understandable.

All the events of the play take place during the day, beginning with the dialogue between the owner of the bar and his assistant, and ending with the murder of Blanca, a customs police officer. Excellent acting makes the audience constantly in suspense, waiting for the continuation of events. Musical accompaniment plays a significant role in the performance.
