Penza Drama Theater said goodbye to the audience "Sevastopol Waltz"

PENZA. On the evening of July 5, in the Penza Drama Theater, the hall was completely filled with spectators. Fans of theatrical art came to say goodbye to their favorite artists, leaving for summer vacation. The 222nd season ended with the musical performance “Sevastopol Waltz”.

One of the guests of the Penza Drama Theater that evening was Grigory Zaslavsky, a famous theater critic from Moscow. He congratulated the artists of the theater on the completion of the season, during which the repertoire of the theater was replenished with eight new performances.

Last season, an important event for the theater and its fans took place - the Maskerad festival. The theater team held such a striking event for the first time. During the festival, the audience was presented with the premiere of the performance “Vadim”, special film screenings were held, creative laboratories worked.

The festival was remembered by both the audience and the artists. The second theater forum "Maskerad" is scheduled for next year. This time he will be dedicated to Soviet classical drama. Grigory Zaslavsky noted that the choice of the performance "Sevastopol Waltz" for the end of the season was an ideal option, since it clearly shows the traditions of Russian dramatic art.

Classical operetta has always been present in the repertoire of drama theaters, because such productions perfectly combine funny scenes with sentimental ones, and dance numbers with catchy melodies. No wonder the audience participating in the online voting recognized the Sevastopol Waltz as the leader of the season.

This performance will also begin the upcoming season, which opens on September 8th. A month later, the audience will be presented the first premiere of the season. She will be the play "The Last Victim", staged on the play of A. Ostrovsky.
