The Russian Drama Theater from Lithuania took part in the Baltic Seasons

KALININGRAD. Within the framework of the “Baltic Seasons”, for the 14th time acquainting Kaliningraders with the best works of art of various genres, a tour of the Russian Drama Theater of Lithuania took place in the city. During the two days of their stay in Kaliningrad, Lithuanian artists managed to please the audience with the popular performances of Zoikin’s apartment and Eugene Onegin.

For the tour performances, the stage was provided by the regional drama theater. Kaliningrad viewers are already familiar with the work of Jonas Vaitkus, head of the RDTL. The director staged the performances “Mary Stuart” in the regional drama, the basis of which was Schiller’s famous drama, and “Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy”, based on the play by V. Gombrovich.

This time the audience got acquainted with the directorial work of Rolandas Atkočiūnas. On October 18, the director presented the comedy “Zoykina Apartment”. The extravagant characters of the play were embodied on the Kaliningrad stage by the most talented actors of the Vilnius theater. In the role of Zoe Peltz, the audience saw Inga Mashkarina, the brightest actress of the troupe.

Martins Vilkaris, a famous stage designer from Latvia, worked on the scenery of the play. Musical arrangement belongs to the composer Giedrius Puskunigisom. Costume designer Jolanta Rimkute pleased the audience with retro-style ladies’ outfits. There were also dances staged by the choreographer Leokadia Dabuzhinskaite.

The audience appreciated the magnificent performance with endless applause. The next evening, the audience was presented with the play “Eugene Onegin”. Jonas Vaitkus, the director, whose work was appreciated by a considerable amount of prestigious awards, worked on the production of the novel. Almost the entire theater staff takes part in the performance. On stage, Pushkin’s singing, dancing, and lyrics get along well.
