The premiere of the play "Egoists" at the Ryazan Drama Theater

The basis of the new performance of the Ryazan drama was the play written by John Tobias "In Search of the True Self." Moscow director Yakov Lomkin gave the family comedy a deep philosophical meaning.

In his stage reading, she turned from a comedy performance into an urgent parable. The performance takes place in the next century. Over the past century, the world has become even more saturated with technological innovations. This made the heroes of modern times captive of virtual reality.

Even living in the same house, they do not talk for weeks, and sometimes do not see each other for days. Social networks, facilitating everyday life with all kinds of technical devices, have become the reasons for the loss of real relationships. Virtual communication replaces the main characters of the play live conversation.

The performance “Egoists” tells the story of how the life of a family turns into a boring existence. However, the human soul, even mired in an everyday digital routine, requires a real feeling.

The performance, created by the Moscow director, attracted the audience with wit and courage. Ryazan viewers are already familiar with the work of Jacob Lomkin in the play "Chekhov’s Women." It was shown at the Ryazan Theater Meetings festival. The new directorial work of Yakov Lomkin pleased the Ryazan audience with vivid set design and individuality of all the characters in the performance.

The premiere performance was attended not only by the Ryazan drama artists beloved by the audience, but also by Moscow theater and film actors - Polyansky Roman and Gudeev Igor.
