Galina Kiseleva’s airy watercolors on display at the Gamayun Museum Center

YEKATERINBURG. Museum Center "Gamayun" is waiting for visitors to the first solo exhibition of the Ekaterinburg artist Galina Yakovlevna Kiseleva. The presentation of the exhibition, which presents more than four dozen works of various genres, made in the technique of watercolors, pastels and painted with gouache, will be held on March 14th.

The artist paints wonderful still lifes and portraits, but most of her works, done in watercolor, are devoted to nature. Especially often the landscape works of Galina Yakovlevna depict beautiful places located in the area of the village of Chusovo, where she often works in the open air.

With the help of watercolors made with masterly skill, viewers will get acquainted with the most beautiful corners of the Sverdlovsk region. In the artist’s drawings, picturesque distances appear, bordered by sloping mountains, rocky riverbanks. Galina Yakovlevna’s aerial watercolors with equal skill convey a foggy morning filled with moisture and the weightlessness of a transparent summer sky.

Of no less interest are the images of city parks and churches that are well known to Yekaterinburg residents, the strict lines of the embankments of the Iset River, carrying water in the center of Yekaterinburg. At the still lifes performed by the artist, one can see bouquets of flowers of amazing beauty and branches of the usual willow, on which buds are just beginning to blossom. Often Galina Yakovlevna complements still lifes with images of birds or butterflies, as well as her drawings.

The artist has been drawing since early childhood. The first steps on the way to the profession were visits to the art studio of the Palace of Pioneers. Then followed a study in the evenings at an art school and the correspondence art faculty of the pedagogical institute in Nizhny Tagil.
