"Victor Sorokin. Still Life" - an exhibition in the House of Masters awaits guests

LIPETSK. The exhibition, which opened on July 25 at the Master’s House, represents a small part of the museum’s collection of the Lipetsk artist Viktor Sorokin. The appearance in the city of this art gallery is directly related to the name of the famous painter, for his services he was awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of Lipetsk".

“Victor Sorokin. Still life energy ”- this is the name given by the organizers of the exhibition, where museum visitors can see 20 paintings created by the artist in adulthood. The dates of their creation date back to the last two decades of Viktor Sorokin’s life. Each of the works shows how an outstanding phenomenon in the art of the twentieth century is the work of Victor Sorokin.

Viktor Sorokin received his professional education at the Surikov Institute, where his teachers were such famous artists as S. Gerasimov, I. Grabar. His phenomenal talent allowed the artist to take the best from his teachers, but at the same time find his way in the art of painting.

In the work of Victor Sorokin there is admiration for the beauty of the world surrounding him. The canvases created by the master are filled with emotions expressed by artistic techniques peculiar only to him personally. The artist creates surprisingly colorful textures, revealing unusual color harmonies.

Victor Sorokin lived in Lipetsk since 1948, without leaving his native land, until the end of his life. The unique talent of the artist has fully blossomed on the Lipetsk land, and his legacy has truly become a national treasure. Employees of the museum, which received the name of the Lipetsk painter, carefully collect and preserve the heritage of Victor Sorokin, which makes it possible to touch the world of beauty.

The still lifes created by the Master can be seen on August 31st.
