Opening of the exhibition "Freedom is freedom ..." in the gallery "Belyaevo"

September 15 at 18:00 in the gallery "Belyaevo" (ul. Profsoyuznaya, d. 100), the grand opening of the exhibition "Freedom is freedom…" dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the "bulldozer exhibition" was held.

Before entering the Belyaevo exhibition hall, the artist Surzhina Diana came across a bulldozer roaring under the windows of residential buildings. He was rubbed with alcohol and tasted the participants of the performance.
“We contrast the experience of sensory experience with totalitarian rhetoric.”

- Sensual, that is, based on personal subjective sensations. There will be three of us, each will portray a feeling of guilt with the help of an attribute - he took an erotic pose and licked the sparkling wing of the bulldozer.

And how was it then?

Participants and visitors of the event in 1974 came to the Belyaevo ’s exhibition anniversary. All of them were participants of the action: some had the courage to show forbidden paintings, others had to come and watch, and also fall under the lens of the KGB.

Is this act an art? Conceptual art tries to convey the idea to the viewer by any means. Young artists came out with paintings that violate the traditions of socialist realism. They fought not so much for recognizing themselves as artists, but for the opportunity to create uncensored and show the world the real state of affairs in the Soviet Union. Spectators were dispersed by irrigation machines, and the exhibition was demolished by a bulldozer, but they managed to attract the attention of foreign media and change a lot in the cultural environment.

Modern authors also do not lag behind the elderly in overcoming the barriers of our perception:

The artist, by the nature of his studies, must explore the world without any restrictions, only then can he create something new.

The project will include evenings with artists of various directions and a discussion on the topic "Social forms of art in contemporary art processes." The exhibition runs until October 12, 2014
