In the Sverdlovsk drama, viewers saw "The Storm" - a version of the British director

YEKATERINBURG. The theaters of Yekaterinburg got a unique opportunity to see an unusual performance - Shakespeare’s play "The Storm", staged by British director Declan Donnellan. This production is a joint project of the Paris and London theaters as part of the Chekhov International Festival.

The performance has already been successfully held on stage at many countries in Europe and Asia. Even managed to visit Latin America. Due to the opening of the regional program of the Chekhov Theater Festival in Yekaterinburg on April 16, residents of the city on the stage of the Sverdlovsk Drama Theater for two nights in a row, on April 16 and 17, were also able to get acquainted with the work of the British director.

The audience enjoyed double pleasure, as the favorite Russian actors were involved in the performance - Alexander Feklistov and Alexander Lenkov, Igor Yasulovich and Mikhail Zhigalov. In addition to Russian stars, the production is attended by a young actress Anna Halilulina, who plays the role of Miranda.

When asked by media representatives to Russian actors about which country it was most difficult for them to go on stage, everyone unanimously called Great Britain. In the country of Shakespeare, the play "The Storm" is familiar to almost everyone, it is often staged even in school theaters, in the form of a Christmas fairy tale. It is difficult to name what the audience was able to see on the stage of the Sverdlovsk drama.

"The Tempest" is not the only performance that theater lovers can see in Yekaterinburg. In the summer the festival program will continue - in June theaters of Switzerland, France and Israel will show their work.

Festival them. Chekhov has been held since 1992, but this year for the first time international festival projects will be seen in six Russian cities, as well as in Riga.
