The play "Bacchus" opened under the new name theater named after Stanislavsky

MOSCOW. After the premiere of the performance "Bacchus", held on January 26, the capital’s theater was opened after restoration. Stanislavsky. Together with the updated premises of the building, the theater received a new name - “Electrotheatre”. However, if you go back a hundred years ago, it turns out that the building already had a sign with this name. In it then was the popular electric theater "ARS".

Soon after the revolution, its popularity was lost, and the premises were transferred to the then Moscow Youth Theater. Theater named after Stanislavsky settled in this building only in the fifties. The creators of the restoration project were extremely careful about the historical appearance of the building, fully preserving its interior. Entering the theater, the audience will see the familiar grand staircase, and on the restored coffered ceilings sparkling original chandeliers.

Significant transformations occurred on the stage of the theater. The classic box has become a pavilion. Now the producers of the performances have the opportunity, if necessary, to change the size of the stage space. For this purpose, special modules are designed. The main thing that has remained unchanged in the theater is its collective. Some artists devoted almost half a century of their lives to their native theater.

The performance "Bacchus", which opened the first season in the renovated theater building, was staged by Theodoros Terzopoulos, a famous Greek director. The premiere of the play was timed to coincide with the presentation of a new book written by a Greek director. The author gave her the title “The Return of Dionysus,” and this work is intended for actors who want to master the original method of working on stage. The author of this method is Theodoros Terzopoulos himself.

After the presentation, everyone was offered a tour of the renovated theater.
