"Autumn Tango" from director Sergei Kutasov in the Nizhny Novgorod drama

NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Fans of the Nizhny Novgorod drama on October 6 will see the new work of director Sergei Kutasov - the play "Autumn Tango", staged based on the work of Boris Razer. The creators of the play on October 4 met with reporters at a press conference.

They told the press about the reasons why this dramatic, touching, sometimes comical story was chosen for staging. Sergey Kutasov noted in his story that he received the play as a gift from the author, after the success of the director’s work, another work by Boris Razer, “Old Russian”.

Sergey Kutasov promised that he would deliver the presented play, but the time of its implementation on the stage came only four years after the death of the author. The name of the play, staged by Sergei Kutasov, came close to the author’s. Although drama lovers know the play as “The Russian Bear,” Boris Ratzer liked to call it “Tango in September.”

To stage the play, the director invited the artist Boris Lysikov. He noted that the proposals received from the director helped him easily create the image of the performance. The way to create musical themes for the performance turned out to be more complicated.

Initially, the director wanted Mikhail Kheifets to create compositions specifically for this production. However, this took too much time. Then the composer, along with the director, picked up a series of melodies that allows viewers to plunge into the times of events taking place on the stage.

According to Sergey Kutasov, he enjoyed working with actors, because once they were his stage partners. A special event of the performance was the appearance on the stage of Georgy Demurov, who had not played new roles since the time he became the artistic director of the theater.
