The Vladimir Drama Theater successfully presented the play "Lady’s Visit" staged by Vadim Danziger

VLADIMIR. For two consecutive evenings, Vladimir spectators witnessed the funny and sad events of the story told in the Vladimir drama. The director of the capital, Vadim Danziger, presented to theater-goers his reading of the play “The Lady’s Visit,” written by Swiss director Friedrich Durrenmatt. On the playbill, the production is called tragifars.

It is in this genre that Vadim Danziger presents the audience with his new directorial work. The difficult story that happened in a small town makes one wonder whether it is possible to evaluate human life, about the ways of turning people into greedy monsters. The director believes that these issues are the main theme of the performance. However, besides this topic in the production, there is one more, it is the theme of repentance.

The story shown on the stage is really unusual, originating in the distant past, when a young girl was slandered by her friend who chose a profitable marriage. The girl, having lost her child, was expelled from the city with shame. After years, she comes home to an extremely wealthy woman.

It was not a sense of nostalgia that called her to her native town, but a desire to take revenge on the traitor. The city where the billionaire returned is far from prosperity. With the arrival of the main character of the performance, the townspeople have a hope to improve the life of the city, however, the promised one billion will be the payment for the life of her former lover. A difficult choice is facing the residents of the city.

Actress Lyubov Gordeeva, who played the main role in the play, says that her heroine can neither be understood nor justified, although the performer herself is struggling to do this. The performer of the role of Illa, Yuri Krutsenko, says that he dreamed of playing in this play while still a student. According to the artist, Vladimir Danziger made it unusual and interesting.
