"Malevich and Ukraine" - a lecture from the Ukrainian Cultural Project

On November 17, a lecture on the creative path of Kazimir Malevich was held in the Chasopys Gallery in Kiev. It was held as part of a program of events related to the 2012 art prize named after this famous artist.

The speaker was Dmitry Gorbachov, passionately passionate about the work of the founder of Suprematism and the avant-garde theorist. He quoted American art historian John Bolt, who managed to find his own approach to disclosing the mysterious personality of Kazimir Malevich. And the answer was found in the artist’s commitment to the tradition of Ukrainian folklore and long-term cooperation with folk artists, as well as friendship with many Ukrainian artists.

The lecture was accompanied by a large number of graphic materials - photographs, reproductions of paintings, video documents. He examined in detail the period of his life associated with the Kiev Art Institute and cooperation with such artists as Bogomazov, Palmov, Boychuk. Which were also the builders of the avant-garde and did a lot for the development of painting.
