"Spatial Realism" by Dmitry Kustanovich in Perm Central Exhibition Hall

PERMIAN. For the first time Perm connoisseurs of modern painting will be able to get acquainted with the work of Dmitry Kustanovich, who became the founder of a new painting style - spatial realism. At the solo exhibition of the St. Petersburg painter, which opened on the eve of the weekend at the Perm Central Exhibition Hall, viewers can appreciate the original technique in which Dmitry Kustanovich performs his works.

More than 60 works created by the artist at different times give the audience the opportunity to see how Dmitry Kustanovich went in a creative way, how high the technical side of his work is. The images of St. Petersburg, presented by the artist on most of his paintings, are the leitmotif of Kustanovich’s work.

The source of inspiration for Dmitry Kustanovich is not only Petersburg, which has become an inexhaustible creative storeroom for the artist. On the canvases of the artist you can see images of ships and sea landscapes. Do not forget the artist and the Russian province. In the exposition, presented under the name "Spatial Realism" there was a place and a series of paintings with butterflies, so loved by fans of Kustanovich’s work.

Many canvases written by the artist should be viewed from some distance. This is the only way to fully enjoy the sensation of volume obtained using a special technique used by Dmitry Kustanovich.

Creating his unique works, the artist uses a special spatula - a palette knife. With it, you can apply paint to the canvas so that the image looks voluminous.

Dmitry Kustanovich has more than 100 personal exhibitions on his account, his paintings have become part of the collections of famous art collectors. In Perm, the artist’s canvases can be seen until July 5.
