The winner of the festival in Kolomna will show his work at the Theater of Nations

Kolomna. Participants in the theater festival, which brought together the artists of small cities of Russia for the 12th time, met in Kolomna, Moscow Region. Since its inception, this theater forum has become one of the significant events in the country’s cultural life. The festival, in which the Theater of Nations takes an active part, collects the best theatrical productions created in Russian cities located in different regions.

Collectives of 16 theaters came to Kolomna to participate in the program of the event, located at a great distance from the capital and from each other. Among them are representatives of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Kaliningrad Region, the Moscow Region and Minusinsk, the Leningrad Region and the village of Motygino.

The number of festival participants totals more than 350 people. This solid team includes not only artists, but also directors. Many of the artistic directors of the theaters felt that their participation in the program was also necessary.

The festival program takes place in two cities. In Kolomna, viewers will see performances participating in the competition program, and festival participants who decide to show their work outside the competition will be hosted by the nearby city of Zaraysk.

From the Moscow Region, the actors of the Our Home Theater from Khimki take part in the competition. Artists brought the performance "Morphine" to the festival. The Regional Youth Theater takes part in the festival out of competition, therefore the actors will show their performance “Snowstorm in Zaraysk. The festival runs through June 6th.

On the closing day of the festival program, a performance will be announced that won the competition. It will be determined by a jury headed by Evgeny Knyazev, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation. The winners will receive a unique award - the theater will be given the opportunity to show their work on the stage of the Theater of Nations.
