There were no tickets to the performances of the Vakhtangov Theater in Ulan-Ude in early summer

ULAN-UDE. For the first time in the capital of Buryatia came on tour artists of the theater. Vakhtangov. The repertoire of the tour includes eight performances in which almost the entire troupe of the theater participates. The arrival of the famous theater was so eagerly awaited that the tickets ended long before the start of the tour, back in the first month of summer.

On the day of arrival, August 31, beloved artists of the Vakhtangov Theater, led by team leader Rimas Tuminas, were solemnly greeted at the Buryatia Hotel. The guests were welcomed with the performance of the ritual dance “Arbagay”, preserved in the memory of the Buryats from ancient times.

The first touring performance was presented to the theater-goers of the capital of Buryatia on September 1. Spectators were presented with the performance “Eugene Onegin” staged by Rimas Tuminas. Ulan-Ude will become another city where theater-goers were able to see this performance based on the famous Pushkin novel. "Eugene Onegin" has already been seen in America and Europe, and in his homeland he was introduced to the theatergoers of Krasnoyarsk and St. Petersburg.

The next performance will be a unique stage reading of Anna Karenina. The choreographic version of the famous novel was staged by Angelica Choline, earning her work the approval of theater critics and success with the public.

“Uncle Vanya” in an unusual reading of Rimas Tuminas will be shown to the audience twice - on the 4th and 5th. In the following days, spectators will get acquainted with the rest of the performances of the touring repertoire, and at the end of the tour, the artists will show a concert performance. It will be presented to the public on September 8, under the name - “Quiet My Homeland”.

These days, the theater is in the midst of a rehearsal for “The Marriages of Figaro.” This performance directed by Vladimir Mirzoyev on September 10 at the Vakhtangov Theater will open the new season.
