This year, two well-known European directors Fridrik Tor Fridrikson and Alexander Sokurov, poet Ilya Kutik and actress Maria Mironova were invited to the jury of the Mirror. The panel of judges was headed by the French writer Emmanel Carrer.
The program of the ninth international film festival "Mirror" is traditionally diverse and eventful. This year, 11 films from different countries will compete for the Grand Prix of the movie screening - these are the films “Somewhere There” directed by Esther Amrami (Germany), “The Disappearance of Sozopol” by Kostadin Bonev (Bulgaria), “The Lady with the Dogs” by Laura Citarella and Veronika Llanas (Argentina), “Goat” by Ivan Ostrokhovsky (Czech Republic - Slovakia), “Why me?” By Tudor Giurgiu (USA - Romania), “No Child” by Vuk Rshumovich (Serbia - Croatia), “Why Am I Not Tarkovsky” by Murat Dyuzgyunoglu (Turkey), “The Court” of Chaitanya Tamhane (India), “Paradise” Miaoyan Zhang (China - France), “The Kingdom of Birds” by Timma Kr Jäger (Germany). Russia at the festival is a film by Yevgeny Koryakovsky “Read, Read.”
Also, film screenings will take place as part of the program of documentary and animated films, the programs "Eternal Euphoria", "Own", "Tarkovsky. Context". This year’s short films program includes graduation theses of four leading cinema schools. In addition, the debut films created by the Alexander Sokurov Foundation “Example of Intonation” will be shown as part of the program.
The festival will be filled with other interesting events - lectures from 2MORROW FILM SCHOOL, a lecture on the evolution of video art from the curator of the MMOMA program Antonio Geusa, a meeting with the creators of the series Rodina, and an exhibition of costumes by Nelly Fomina that were involved in Andrei’s films will be held Tarskowski.
